Bruen's restaurant. I have eaten at least 10 times in Bruen in the last 10 months and I really like it. It's really delicious home cooking. I didn't try anything I didn't like and I always feel extremely full. Although it would be hard to select my favorite product, I would have to say that both ribeye sandwich and fried chicken are on the list. The side salads are always fresh and tasty. I've never been there when there was no crowd, so parking can be a problem. I had to drive away twice because I couldn't find a parking lot. Cheeseburger Near Paradise is a must-visit! Be sure to try their freshly baked cakes… if you have any space left after your meal. I’m a big fan of their cheeseburgers. The value is fantastic: you get two delicious cheeseburgers for just $4.25 (tax included), and sides are sold separately. Just keep in mind that this is comfort food, so don’t expect anything health-conscious. It's the perfect spot to treat yourself, especially after a long hike in the Red River Gorge (Paradise). If you like to eat where the locals go and avoid the chain places this is the place for you! Everyone was so friendly here and the meals here are traditional home cooked foods. Don 't go in expecting a posh place with candles and expensive wine because you won 't get it. This is a great mom and pop single room diner with great pricing, good food, and great company. Thanks for being so welcoming and inviting us to come visit again! Keep in mind they only take cash (or check but not from out of towners).
Bruen's is definitely a small, unassuming spot both inside and out. Nevertheless, it's clear that this restaurant has been a historic staple of the community, and many local families rely on the dedicated staff for fresh, hot meals. Their prices went up a little recently but they rarely raise the prices AND it's still way cheaper and way better than fast food. The ladies have always been great there. Cash and local checks only. Don't complain, it probably helps the prices stay low. I just don't like where I can't leave a tip on the checks so I have to make sure to have some cash.
We went there on a whim, with wife and three kids. This woman that was serving us was helping everybody in the restaurant, she was the only one. Amazing food worth a little bit of wait. Great service. And you cant beat the price!!! This alone is worth the trip to the gorge!!!!!!!!!!
We stopped here as we came into town to visit the RRG Area. And Ms. Regina was absolutely a treasure. She waited tables for what seemed like the entire restaurant. She was fantastic. The food was good. I would definitely stop there again!
We enjoyed it so much we came twice. Fabulous beef Manhattans and their cheesy potatoes are to die for. Off the beaten path but well worth the trip. Great staff as well. JUST MAKE SURE TO HAVE CASH. They do not take cards. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
