Dinner while it was still daylight (daylight saving!) in a beautiful room, hushed and yet not oppressively so, with a beautiful outlook to the terrace and garden beyond - what a great evening. I give it full marks for atmosphere and ambience. This was assisted by the wonderful staff, who were attentive but not overwhelming or 'false'. The complimentary amuse bouche was excellent, as were our meals. Delicious pork, fish, scallops. The only negatives - the lamb came as cutlets and the fat was thick and inedilble. After deciding to try out this restaurant in Howden, we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. Upon our arrival on a Saturday night, we noticed that there were only a few diners in the bright and tastefully decorated dining area. The spacious tables were not crowded together, which added to the overall ambiance. The high quality of the food reflected the skill of the chef - the salt and pepper squid, which my wife and I shared as an appetizer, was tender and delicious. I recently attended a dinner function at Bruni's restaurant. I have dined here before and I was not disappointed at this event. The venue remains refined with a touch of glamour and the staff were welcoming and friendly. It is the food that continues to star at Bruni's. This is part of Villa Howden. It is set in a lovely room with traditional French architecture and high ceilings . It is not large accommodating ten tables . There is a beautiful view of the gardens . We had breakfast twice there and the...food was reasonable . I noticed though there was only one staff member running around which is okay for s few tables , but would have been difficult if all tables were occupied.

See my review of Villa Howden (I spoke about the meals at this restaurant) but the service was 5 star and the food 5+ stars! So much flavour, and unlike being at many other restaurants, there is usually an appetiser or something you don't like - not here! Everything I tried was unbelievable! Be sure to leave room for dessert!
The granola and oatmeal porridge were overly sweet and drowned in syrup. The breakfast sausage tasted artificial and the speck was dry and lacking in flavor. This meal was not a good representation of a quality breakfast; it was processed and overpriced.
We were hoping to find a simple dinner while staying at Villa Howden and were delighted to find Pumpkin Sweet Potato soup Creme Caramel! The service was wonderful.
The food is too good! having a wonderful meal in the evening, it is hard appreciate the enormous breakfast on offer the following morning.

Great stop in Bruny Island. The cheeses are simply incredible. They are even baking their own breads onsite now. Highly recommended.
It is a fixed menu with only 2 choices although both were very high quality and delicious. Good range of local wines as well.
