We have driven past this roadside stop for years without stopping, but this time we made a planned visit to try the fish in Brockville and chips in Maitland. When we arrived at 2:30, there were a few cars parked in the lot. My wife was able to place our order quickly, but it took about fifteen minutes for our fries to be ready. When she finally returned to the car with our order, I found them to be lacking compared to our usual spot, Gaetan's. The fries were a pale shade of golden brown, not the usual crispier brown we are used to, and they had a somewhat artificial flavor. It seemed like they may have been frozen, although I cannot be certain. It appears that they only prepare one order at...
You don't usually think of a chip wagon as place for fish and chips. Well here they are better thanmozt in the area including Brockville. We've benn customers here going back mire than 15 years and youare not going to find better fries anywhere. It's...all in the peanut oil. Bernie has an extensive menu with great quality on all items. Last year Buds was awarded business of the year. We will certainly be coming back again and again.
Stopped in to grab some dinner. Hubby had the fish and chips...the portion was enormous, fish was absolutely delicious and much cheaper than in town. I had a crispy chicken burger with a poutine. Again both were big in size the poutine was very good....Staff were friendly. Will be back again to try some more items off the menu. Great place if you haven't tried them yet, you need to. You won't be disappointed.
The best fries in Ottawa and definitely worth the drive. The restaurant enforces social distancing with tables set six meters apart. I tried the JUMBO fries with salt and vinegar, and they were deliciously crispy and perfectly seasoned. The generous amount of salt and vinegar was evenly distributed throughout the fries, which I personally enjoyed. Highly recommended!
My wife and I were in Halifax for the day on a cruise ship and walked past one of these trucks whilst exploring the area. Just the name of the truck was enough for us to stop and give them a try. We were not...disappointed, although as a personal choice, the fries could have been a bit thicker. Smothered in sauce and mustard, they were yum!
This has to be by far the worse restaurant i’ve ever been too. Staff was rude and unwelcoming, food was terrible , cold and the place is filthy. Bugs and flies all over the restaurant and OH did i mention the staff is terrible!!! Never...again and i wish i can rate this place -10000000
We tried placing an order over the phone, but the young girl kept us on hold for over 20 minutes. We finally placed our order, but when we arrived at the restaurant, they had completely messed it up. Their customer service is always disappointing.
First time for fish and chips after having their fantastic fries many times. The batter is light with a bit of sweetness and the fish was not dried out We will definitely be back for more and look forward to trying more of their menu.
Have eaten at this Red Caboose numerous times over the last few years and the quality of the food is outstanding, always fresh and tasty. Prices are very reasonable...
