We went across the street from just having eaten delicious lobster at the Alma Lobster Shop for something to wash down our dinner. Buddha Bear was our next stop. We each took a different brew. They were serving an assortment of locally brewed beer. The...place has so much character with taps protruding from the walls with a black board behind them with crazy names of each tapped brew of the day. There are seats out on the decks and rusticly designed tables and benches inside. It looks like a constant party inside and out. This restaurant may be a bit hard to locate as it is tucked away in a corner of a pub. Look for the signs for The Holy Walbrauer. The coffee here is top-notch, although the menu options are a bit limited. The pub itself is rather dimly lit, making it a unique spot for your morning caffeine fix. Guests have the option to enjoy their coffee outside or take it to-go. However, it's puzzling that this coffee shop doesn't open until 10:00. Many patrons, like myself, prefer to start their day with a cup of coffee earlier. Perhaps they should consider opening earlier to accommodate those looking to pair their coffee with treats from the nearby bakery.
We were looking for a fun place to have a beer or two after a day of hiking at Fundy national Park. We were attracted to Buddha Bear by the smell from the large wood-burning oven located in front of the property. We ordered local draft beers from a good selection, and proceeded to order food-then more food! Raw oysters, baked oysters, mussels, and scallops with bacon and brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious, especially the cooked items that picked up some of the nice wood smoke flavor. We enjoyed sitting on the outdoor patio and chatting with several other visitors while savoring our meal.
Go to Buddha Bear coffee roaster and Café is one of my favourite stops in the province- hands down. The owners are absolutely exceptional and amazing. They are always friendly and accommodating. Their brew is absolutely perfection. They also feature ales that are not their...own. Love their Buddha beer meal deal as well for a treat as you down some of their amazing ales. We missed this spot the first time we drove by because of the double signage (The Holy Whale Brewery occupies the same space). This is an old church, small and cozy with lots of interesting detail and stained glass windows intact. We had herbal tea...and a coffee with some molasses cookies. Nice atmosphere, funky light fixtures and helpful staff. No wifi. Sells its own brand of coffee, too, in bags to bring home. I bought two!
I have been to Buddha three times now. Their Americano is amazing, definitely one of the best I've had. The pretzels were delicious and the molasses cookie was divine. The staff is outstanding, knowledgeable, and helpful. If you love coffee, this place is a must-visit!
I'm not kidding. The Buddha Bear Cafe is home to the Sacred Whale Microbrewery and offers live Celtic music in a welcoming, family-friendly environment!
