It saddens me to have to write a negative review about a local hotel but after our visit on Saturday 29th October the hotel manager, Mr Barlow (has refused to reply to my personal email and therefore has left me no choice but to make others aware of our experience. We booked a table at the Budock Vean for a very special occasion and were so looking forward to it. We booked two weeks in advance and then were told we had to call back on the Wednesday 26th to make sure they could accommodate us (they didn 't offer to call us . Greeted on arrival by lovely friendly staff at reception and pointed in the direction of the dining area. Afternoon tea was the usual combination of sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, and a selection of small cakes, sadly 2 of these disintegrated in the heat. The only cutlery given were teaspoons with our drinks and a knife; it would be useful to give extra teaspoons for the jam and cream! Long overdue but I loved the couple days at Budock Vean Hotel in October,2022. The staff are amazing, very helpful and supportive and the food absolutely divine I enjoyed it all with a lovely glass of Red Wine. The walk down to The Helford River through the gardens was rewarding and uplifting after I had some issues concerning my health plus the wonderful swimming pool and sauna was great. I cannot speak highly enough of the friendly, supportive staff and in my eyes the food was 5 STARS. Excellent. Thank you ALL and especially to Wendal.
The food is amazing at the Budock Vean. Great care is taken with presentation, ingredients (local and there is a great ambience in the restaurant. I made a direct phone reservation for my 67th birthday celebration, and it was absolutely amazing. The room I stayed in was charming, cozy, and inviting. I took advantage of the swimming pool, sauna, and hot tub, and enjoyed a delicious evening meal with a special birthday card waiting for me.
