We were in Brockville just for one day & overnight to do some scuba diving.We researched local restaurants and came across Buds and decided to try it, because their menu looked great.We were a bit disappointed that when we arrived they gave us a limited menu that was not as diverse as the one we saw online. We asked why and they explained that because it was ribfest / carnival / giant rubber duck weekend, the restaurant was packed and they decided to do a limited menu for that weekend only, to give the kitchen a break.However, while dining, we noticed that almost all of the tables in the dining area were one single group, and they ALL left at the same time - I think they were a bus tour. I met two girlfriends for lunch. As the waitress was picking up the menus she tipped an entire drink into my lap. She brought me a stack of paper napkins and a glass of club soda and said that the lunch would be on the house. When the bill arrived, I was charged for half of the meal price. When asked, the waitress said that only half of the lunch was approved by management. The manager didn't even drop by our table to offer to pay for the dry cleaning of a dress and brand new white blazer. Stopped in here mid afternoon on the Sunday where Brockville was hosting the Trail and Rail event and the Rib Feast. When we first arrived and tried to sit on the upper patio we were told the wait was about 15-20 minutes. We went for a walk instead and returned about 20 minutes later and were seated immediately.The patio is large and nicely appointed with a variety of plants and flower arrangements. We order Beaus draft at $6.86 each (strange price) followed later by a Buds Club wrap ($14.99) which we shared and another round. First round was slow to arrive but the club with fries was very good.We enjoyed the atmosphere and the server was very friendly.
First time visiting Brockville and we tried to go to an upper scale restaurant that was suggested. They were fully booked and advised us the buds on the bay would be good.Atmosphere is bar like (which is not bad), the food was okay.. but I found that the prices were too expensive for what we got.The best dish we had was not on the menu, the nachos. not sure why they don't put it on the menu as it was fantastic.My rating was low because I felt it was too expensive for what they offered and the atmosphere.. not sure if the cost of eating is expensive there.
Stopped here a few weeks ago on a bike trip with a buddy. The upstairs patio was full, so we sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and went out of her way to get us on the patio; plus she was cute too. Found us a spot on the patio and she continued to service us. I ordered the PepperCorn Burger and it was outstanding.Excellent food and service.
Our first visit to Brockville, so asked hotel where to eat. Bud's is downtown right on the Bay, with a good view of the river and New York. Service was very friendly and the food was excellent. The music was a little loud to my taste, but you could talk over it without yelling.
Stopped in during the "duck's" visit to Brockville. The view from the patio gave us good viewing of the lumber jack show going on. Beer was COLD and prices were excellent. Not a 5 star restaurant, but nice, laid back and prices are excellent.
Long wait for service, long wait for drinks, long wait for food. Poor quality food, old dated decor. Hadn't been for about 4 years because last visit there was bad. Had hoped there were some positive changes but just as bad as 4 years ago.
This place is great to eat at..low key. the architecture is gorgeous the building is old and beautiful. There is a patio upstairs that looks out onto the water and the marina!!!
