First stop on the Romantic Road, this is the sun terrace/restaurant at the castle. The staff are helpful if busy, so don't be shy in grabbing a menu and finding a table. You have to walk up from the town you can't drive up there but it's worth it if you can get a view by the edge/wall that overlooks the town. It was a lovely sunny evening when we were there so all the better. You can stop for a coffee or glass of wine, or have a full meal. We had the spicy/sizzing prawns definitely not for a delicate tastebuds, but we loved them and washed them down with a cold beer. Good value and would recommend in good weather.
The food here is OK and the view over the town is wonderful but the service was simply awful. They were not over busy but ... no welcome, no saying where to sit, 20 mins to take a drink order, served parties out of order, sullen service, dishes came at odd times, delivered second drink after I 'd finished meal ... all it needed was a smile and a I 'll be with you soon and it would have been OK. If they read this and wonder why they didn 't get a tip then maybe it will make them think!
Ein schönes Abendessen auf der Burg mit Blick auf Wertheim. Meine Frau hat Zöliakie und muss kostenlos Gluten essen. Nach einer Weile holten sie es heraus und sie aß ein köstliches Fischgericht. Ich hatte auch die Bratwurst und das Sauerkraut sehr gut. Schöne Tomatensuppe als Vorspeise. Es gab Live-Musik und es war eine gute Coverband mit großartigem Blues. Netter Server. Alles an einem sehr angenehmen Abend
The outdoor ambience is great as always with views of the river and the city. The food carving that my Hubby ordered was good, a little expensive, but it was worth it. I also ordered ice cream and that was so tasteful. The indoor ambience is good for the family and large group/crease when the restaurant sometimes offers live music and opera. They also provide a wedding reception.
