During a weekend trip up north, I stopped by this restaurant and encountered an uncomfortable situation. A few individuals were gathered right outside the front door, behaving as if they owned the street and challenging anyone passing by to engage with them. One person, wearing a three-cornered hat, appeared to be leading the group, while the others crowded the sidewalk, loudly discussing far-right politics. It was evident that many people inside the restaurant were trying to avoid them and felt intimidated. For many years, taking a coffee break has been a cherished tradition for my children and now my grandchildren. We decided to spend the day together in Alpena and chose Cabin Creek as our destination. It’s becoming a lovely spot to relax, catch up, and share a few laughs. Today, it was quite lively! The staff was busy but attentive, promptly assisting an elderly couple who accidentally spilled their drink when they sat down, even going so far as to remake the drink for them.

My wife and I visit this restaurant every week. The food is excellent, but the staff could be friendlier. There's one employee who smiles when she sees us, but other than that, the service lacks warmth. The atmosphere is pleasant, and we love catching up with friends there. We just wish the staff would smile a bit more often.
What a charming little coffee shop! There are plenty of delicious coffee choices available, and the baristas were fantastic. The food was tasty as well—I had a blueberry muffin and a white chocolate cherry scone. The location is lovely too. I would definitely recommend this place!
We come into town for two weeks every year and this is our coffee shop, bar none. But way more than coffee. They have great breakfast sandwiches and sweets as well as fantastic lunch sandwiches and amazing salads. All the staff is friendly. You have to go.

Such a cute coffee shop! Got matcha with mango once and raspberry once and both were so so good! Also the cookie dough cheesecake was delicious! But it gets sweet quickly!
