As a local I have been going to this cafe since it opened years ago. It has recently morphed from modern Australian/Portuguese cafe to mainly burgers and breakfast. I miss the variety in the former menu.The decor is funky and the garden could be made more user-friendly. I haven't seen customers out there yet, though it looks quite appealing. A roof on the courtyard, (plus some proper comfy bar stools) would add much needed shelter from the hot Sydney summer sun.The coffee is always tasty and the food, e.g. the new burgers are delicious too. Plus the service continues to be super friendly and helpful.I have no hesitation in recommending cafe 2204 for a good, tasty friendly brekky or lunch loc...
this caffe is close, but I rarely go there as the Wi-Fi is shut off. not sure how often I had to ask her to restart it. I go to the rule in caffes to use the internet and do some...work, but I stopped by 2204 due to the lack of indifference. also the coffee is served warm and each time must be sent back. I ask each time specifically I would like to have a really hot coffee, as it upsets my feeling of dizziness if not. I don't care about the disease of 'oh, but we'll burn the milk ' for my joy out there's other caffes that can do it for me and that's the reason I return to them. otherwise 2204 has a great mood and atmosphere when I am friends there for coffee, they seem to like it.

Ich habe eine Umhüllung bestellt, die meistens Salat war und in Sauce ertrank. Die wenigen Hühnchenbits, die enthalten waren, wurden überkocht und trocken. This is the second time we have been to this place. The seating, including sofas and arm chairs, and the brick wall and other decor, give it a little of the air of the cafe area of MONA in Hobart. The coffee is first class,...the food excellent, the attention when we set out a particular diet problem was very positive and helpful. We had lamb shoulder, roasted to shreddability and tender-tender, on a turkish break with yoghurt, mint etc. Simple, clear, excellent flavours, reasonably priced. Toilet facilities spotless.

The staff were lovely and hospitable, the food served promptly and a nice atmosphere however the food was disappointing. I ordered a wrap which was mostly lettuce and drowned in sauce. The few bits of chicken that were included were overcooked and dry. Two others on my table did not receive bacon within their ordered meal and overall comments were that the taste was bland.
If the food was improved this would be a great place to call my local.
This review only needs to be short. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a really good (quick and informal) cafe meal.The cafe has the feel of Darlinghurst or Surry Hills. Menu is solid, service is okay and position on Addison Road is great (hidden amongst other stores).Very good cafe meal in Marrickville (and the competition is stiff).
If you like great and exotic coffee blends then you would definitely enjoy this hidden gem. A trendy intimate cafe with a relaxed environment that always has great tunes. The staff are very friendly and the food is very nice too. Affordable, comfortable and always...an enjoyable experience when I visit.
WOW! What an amazing cafe who aren't stingy with their servings. We ordered the healthy hazard and chicken burger and our fungry stomachs were satisfied. The fresh juices are also a must!
