Visited the cafe at 3pm as it stated opening hours which close at 4pm. On entering the cafe (didn’t get chance to sit we looked at the menu only to be met with the female server (no welcoming smile and a look of utter disdain! from behind the counter, abruptly informing us that there was no food (there were cakes in the glass cabinet or coffee as she was in the process of cleaning down the coffee machine so there was only tea? I assumed that cleaning would start at closing time not an hour before? If you don’t want customers to come in at 3, I suggest you adjust your closing times to accommodate your cleaning! We had a Christmas dinner here on Sunday afternoon it was absolutely delicious. We had reserved our table but another family had already sat there by mistake when we arrived, but the staff went out of their way to accommodate us and found us another one very quickly. The roast was so nice it was the best we've had in ages. A pub wouldn't beat it! The portion was brilliant and very generous... I'm sure that's one of the reasons it's always busy. Thank you for being accommodating and for making my .birthday meal nice. We'll be back again soon.
Very tasty and wholesome food. This is not a posh restaurant. It is very basic, but the food is so good! Tastes freshly grown and well prepared. We have been here a few times now. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. It was quite busy, but we were served quickly. It's good to see local places such as this doing well. Makes a change from the big brand chains.
Very good ploughmans lunch with plenty of cheeses and a generous portion of ham. Wait from ordering was very long considering the place was not that busy, but food was worth the wait. Visited the garden centre and bought lots of bedding plants. Well priced and plenty of variety. The lady on the till was very helpful offering advice on pest control. The food was nice we had paninis which were served with fries but the girl on the till was really quite rude. She wore glasses and had her hair up in a claw clip. No please or thank you and then in the middle of serving me dealt with another customer and ignored me! Really not good service nobody cleared out pots away either
3/5 I feel for the price it could of been a lot better value the sausage was barley a sausage as it thin taste value 2/5 I’m not a fussy person but if I’m planning on eating out which doesn’t happen often then I want bit more than the offering I got I’m afraid we won’t be coming back to this establishment my honest opinion
Absolutely spot on.. What can you say about the Christmas Dinner one word outstanding couldn 't be bettered have eaten lesser dinners at thrice the price. Will without reservation highly recommend the cafe at Holland House and the staff very professional unobtrusive and efficient. 5 stars plus thanks
Absolutely amazing food really tasty had mushroom soup, full English breakfast and the biscoft pancakes where to die for clean dining area and staff very friendly… this place is going to be my regular eatery child friendly and happy staff. Would highly recommend Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Wow what a find had their Christmas lunch which was to die for so purchashed one to take home with me which is now in the freezer for Christmas day. Great idea for the discount for pensioners. I must check which bus service goes there.
