Wow! I can see why this Italian restaurant has such high ratings. I was in from out of town and looking for a good Italian place, I walked in and was greeted by the Manager, Debbie, who went out of her way to make me feel welcomed and took great care of me. (during a Friday night dinner rush hour! Evan was my waiter and the service was excellent and quick. The friendly and personable owner, Joe DiMaggio Jr., cooks delectable Italian dishes in the center bar while engaging with patrons. This isn?t so much about the restaurant as the service we received. It was the worse service ever. Our server had an attitude as soon as we were seated. We placed our orders. Got one meal wrong. When meal was brought out we told them what was ordered. Server came to table and said I read the order back to you. Everyone at the table agreed on what was ordered. I decided to cancel my meal because by the time I would of gotten mine everyone else would be done. When I asked the server to cancel my meal, he threw the cheese grater down and stormed off. The art in the place was wonderful. Very nicely decorated, always kept my eye busy while eating. The lighting is pretty dark, so bring some reading glasses if you typically struggle with reading small text. I had the manicotti, it was very filling but I just wanted to keep eating it because of how good it was! My vegetarian friend had the veggie pizza and said it was the best veggie pizza she?s ever had. Super colorful and perfectly cooked. When I asked the waiter if they served mocktails, she gave me a range of flavor options to choose from.

OMG! This is a favorite of family who live in Sarasota area. When visiting they took us here. Like being in NY. Service, fantastic,, treated like family! The food,, excellent! From pasta to pizza! Highly recommended! Enjoy!! Oh, btw, they have artists painting inside and a live orchestra outside!!!

If you are visiting Florida,Sarasota. You need to Stop and Dine in at Cafe Barbosso. Best Italian Restaurant! Beautiful restaurant . Try the 10 layer eggplant,Short ribs, Octopus Salad and don?t forget to take to-go a Pepperoni pizza!
