Firstly the food was stunning. Scallops , onion soup for entrees. Both amazing. Venison, fish and steak for mains. All were rave worthy. Dessert was creme brulee...divine. Service is curt. Corkage was $10 pp which is too expensive. $40 added to bill just for corkage....too much. Prices for meals are up there but not over the top. Spoilt by overcharging for corkage and insisting council did not allow them to stay open any later than 10pm. Really? Don't like being rushed out without having time to chat more and savor the meal. Even though food was amazing a few people skills wouldn't go astray.
This place is one of my favourite local eateries. My wife and I stumbled across this place one night while walking the dog and needing a coffee. We sat down for coffee, noticed the dessert menu so we had a cake. While eating the cake we noticed the dinner menu and came again for a meal. Now I come here as often as I can. Very tasty french food in a relaxed setting with excellent service and very reasonable prices. They also have a great selection of wine which the knowledgeable staff are more than happy to help you food match. I am definitely coming back, again and again!!!
Visited with some friends. Had an early seating but as we wanted to linger, were able to relocate (with heater) to an outdoor table. Food was divine. The chicken liver parfait was out of this world and easily as good as far more expensive places. My friends had French onion soup which they devoured and loved!We all had the steak. Fabulous. Perfectly cooked. They happily accommodated my request for mash (divine) instead of fries. The fondant - smashing. Highly recommend!
I came across this amazing cafe as I walked in for breakfast after the costal walk from Bondi to Coogee. I had a beautiful outdoor table soaking up the winter sun, the service was prompt & friendly, I opted for the classic cheese omelette ~ it has to be the BEST omelette I have ever had !! It was simple & delicious, quality ingredients with perfect little side salad. The added bonus was the coffee that came in a bowl... it was outstanding !

Such a great evening at Cafe de France on the weekend. Such a great asset to Coogee, the place is cut and paste straight from a Parisian back alley, with the food to match. Beautiful french bistro food, great service and an authentic french feel make for an all round great experience. Will definitely be back.

The food here is absolutely amazing. Menu changes based on the season and what is available. This ensures for a great exciting meal every time. The pate and cheese soufflé were amazing. Highly recommend if you get a chance to try them
Cafe de France was recommended as a must visit, and i can confirm that recommendation. The place has a very relaxed and comfortable vibe, and backs it up with excellent food. An excellent local gem in the Coogee area.

Early breakfast after night out before trip home. Toastie was just the trick. Beautiful sourdough, tasty thin cut ham , cheese and a thin layer of bechamel sauce toasted, coffee good too.
You cannot beat the quality and seasonal variety of the menu. Having made many visits to Cafe De France, I have always been impressed by the quality and refined flavours on offer.
