France can be tricky if you want to eat on a Monday evening, especially in the country. Lots of restaurants are closed because they were open all week-end. A friend suggested we try this local bistro and truly we did not expect much because at that point its redeeming feature was that it was open. Arrived at 12:15 to find it alreay full of locals, always a positive, and this on a Monday.Excellent simple cuisine, plenty of choice at least 8 entrees and plats. Lots of choice of meats cooked on the grill outside, brochettes etc.I had the daube which was excellent.24 Euro menu for 3 courses. The plat du Jour , which may fellow diners were having looked excellent.For wine lovers. A reasonable choice of local wines at resonable mark up. The Roucas Toumba is the choice to make, excellent wine at 42 Euros. There is now a new cave opposite, selling many producers, the aforementioned at only €18.50.
Just love this restaurant in this quintessential French village , the perfect setting under the Plane trees in the centre. We've been for lunch before, however as we were staying nearby we came and enjoyed a marvellous evening. So pretty with the fairy lights and the street light up. The food is very French , they speak a little English which with my little French was a help. The prices are good as is the food and the service . Will always come back when we are in the area.
What should have been a very nice evening was spoilt when the waiter said the chef refused to cook a burger to my friend's taste. She requested the burger to be well done and the waiter said she could only have it medium. What she was then served could only be described as raw and was pink in colour. They seem to think the customer is there to be served what they don't like.Needless to say it remained uneaten and we noted that the waiter never asked if everything was okay.

Starters of raviolis, timbale de courgette and foie gras all hit the Mark. Then came the duck skewer, two large pieces of duck hanging on their skewer, boeuf also good but not so dramatic. French fries excellent, burger also munched on happily by teenagers, the carpaccio soft and lightly seasoned. Will definitely be back!
We stopped there for a night and we're looking for a simple and decent place to eat. We were not disappointed, as this place happened to be very good! Waiters were a little shy but the food was delicious. I'd go there again anytime. Don't expect gastronomic food, it's typical good French food, simple but effective.
One of the best pieces of fish I have ever eaten! The sides were also amazing, and when chatting to a local afterwards I found out that the restaurant only uses small local suppliers, so is supporting its neighbours. Really affordable considering the quality of the food. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Very good warm welcome and we were well placed on the terrace in the evening. Good cuisine, very good quality price. Very nice servers. Right to recommend.

Excellent food with good choice. Be aware that it is difficult to get anything other than rare or very rare beef in France.
Very good kitchen. Too bad the service is as long. Very nice and pleasant waitress.
