The menu is quite limited but is one of the few restaurants, in Pons, to offer a vegetarian option. I ordered the (petite) bruschetta with chèvre, tomate pomme et miel, with a side portion of chips and my husband had the steak de thon mi...cuit sauce vierge with chips. Both lunches were fresh, delicious, very filling we both agreed had the nicest chips we'd tasted in a long time. The staff were really welcoming and friendly, even though we hadn't made a reservation and as the restaurant is in a lovey situation, directly opposite le donjon,. I would highly recommend this restaurant. for a coffee, cold drink or a meal
As it was June we did not make a reservation, but turned up at pm only to discover that food was not being served until pm. However, we were made welcome; drinks provided and food orders taken. Just before pm our...starters arrived. We chose well and for main had fish of the day and meat of the day. Well-cooked and presented. My husband's Creme Brulee was perfect and my The Gourmand was delicious. Pons itself is somewhere we chose to overnight en-route to further down in France, but it was an excellent choice and an interesting town
This was possibly the best steak I have ever had, We arrived here by accident and were entertained by really genuine and attentive staff. The beer, of which there were a selection was great and the steak was just perfect. I asked for "a point"...and if it had been any rarer it would have eaten the salad. The place, the setting and the food. It was all just perfect. R
Called in to the Cafe du Donjon after visiting the hairdressers in Pons. Lovely warm reception. The staff are welcoming. Coffee was lovely. There is an English member of staff just in case you’re struggling to understand the menu who is particularly helpful although...the french personnel are friendly, too. I could have sat in there for hours just people-watching

A friend took us here on a visit to the area. It is set in a great little square with beautiful buildings and gardens with fountains around. Service could have been quicker but my salmon in a light orange sauce with a flan of vegetables...was perfect. My partner's sea bass looked great too. Bet it's lovely in the evening..

We chose our lunch from an extensive and interesting looking menu.We were sereved quickly and cheerfully.Our food was well presented and mouth-wateringly tasteful. The portions were generous and we left fully satisfied with the whole lovely experience. A visit to The Cafe Du Donjon is...recommended
We only stopped to check out the famous dungeon and have a beer on our way back from cognac on a very humid day. Amazing views of the dungeon from the cafe, great views from the ramparts and easy free parking make this a place...well worth visiting, especially if you're in need of an ice cold beer

great caffe for a light lunch. friendly staff and good food/wine. quite recommend l’assiette du donjon to share (melone, bavette steak, thicker ham steak, cheese) washed with a bottle of local vin blanc. is good on the historic buildings and landscape. free parking. very close. perfect!
