Having seen a lake shown on the satnav yet not visible from the road, we pulled into a rough parking area, and clambered up onto a wall to see a lovely man made lake. The far side had a campsite on it with bits of beach and people in the water but this side was tranquil.Walking along the top of the wall round the corner we came across cafe du Lac. In truth it doesn't look the most preprocessing of places but the tables overlooking the lake seemed just right. The menu is mainly about pizza and I must say that with a few exceptions, it is quite decent. We went with friends and children, I took Royale and my friend took Chevre. Unfortunately, both of them, particularly Chevre were swimming in cheese. Never saw so much cheese on pizza in my life. But I tried other people's pizzas and they were good.View is marvellous. When weather permits (there is strong wind sometimes), ask for an outside table.
Fabulous position next to Étang de la Bonde, a man-made lake near La Motte d'Aigues, with the Luberon mountains behind. The fish platter is fabulous and the atmosphere magical as the sunset frames the mountains and they are reflected in the lake. The prices are reasonable and the service attentive, in a very informal atmosphere. Open for lunch and some evenings - fewer as the season comes to its end. Very highly recommended.
An evening meal here overlooking the lake is a delight, especially as the sun is setting. Wonderful food at a reasonable price. The fish platter is delicious - and enough for two. Fantastic lunch, great value, enormous portions, lively without being overcrowded. Not pretentious in any way. Very relaxing sitting at the table in our swim suits, sipping chilled rose. The lake is lovely and safe for children, dogs love it too.
My daughter and I went here more than once on a recent trip, and loved it. The food was good, but the atmosphere very charming in this somewhat rustic spot right along the lake, and the people were wonderful.
