A Wonderful New Orleans Tradition... Right in Metairie! However, on May 3, 2022, I found the men's restroom to be in terrible condition, and it seemed like nothing was done to address it. This was quite disappointing and discouraging. Unfortunately, in some unfortunate ways, it reflects an outdated and negative tradition in Louisiana.
No trip to New Orleans is complete without stopping into a cafe Du Monde. On this trip this particular location was closest to us. We've realized all the locations are amazing. I always get the traditional beignets but this time was my first time getting the frozen cafe au lait and it will be my go to from now on!
The beignets were hot, fluffy, and delicious. They were a bit denser than I remember, and there are several places in Houston that serve beignets that are just as good or even better. However, they were still quite good, and I would recommend this location for its convenient parking.

Beignets, and coffee with milk. There's nothing else that makes you feel like you are at home with grandma or mom.
