I've had cookbooks from the Troisgros Brothers in my library for 25 years, and ate a very good meal at La Colline du Colombier in August '12, which is unfortunately closed over the Winter. We chose to eat here based on other reviews and the fact that is was connected to the 3 star Troisgros. We were sadly disappointed. The amuse bouche was radishes and salted butter. Admittedly they were very nice radishes but the pairing with butter seemed off. I ordered the Lamb Orientale which was very much like lamb stew...lamb chops braised with vegetables, celery and carrot with just a hint of cumin. Really pretty tasteless. My husband had the salmon which was very good aside from the fact it was the smallest piece of salmon I have ever seen served. The desserts were okay but nothing unusual or special. I was on a business trip to Roanne and had a suggestion to have a dinner at Le Central. Sadly on Monday evening it was closed. Next day we came here for a lunch with colleagues and now I recommend You! :) food is delicious! menu is well considered and portions just right. Very French overall experience. Interior is also worth to compliment.

My husband I came across this restaurant when visiting Roanne and popped in, on the off chance that they had a table free for an evening meal. We were not disappointed. Our dish of Rognons de Veau in a wonderful Puys Lentil casserole was very different and so tasty. We would definitely go back when in the area again.
Delicious bistro food, very affordable prices. The service is real good. Wine list with great selection, good price/value. Highly recommended!
