For drinks, my wife chose a homemade ginger beer, while I opted for a hot cup of ginger tea since it was a chilly day. She immediately recognized that her ginger beer was fresh and authentically made! My ginger tea was filled with real pieces of ginger, making the drinks just perfect. For her entree, my wife ordered the Fungi, which is a corn flour dish mixed with okra, served with saltfish and eggplant. It was such a treat! Her meal was bursting with flavor, and the saltfish tasted incredibly fresh. I went with the brown stew chicken, which came with rice and peas, sweet plantains, and vegetables. The flavors were amazing; the food was simply outstanding! Kudos to Bernadine, the master ch...

Tried this new restaurant on a whim, and not disappointed. Ordered the Curry Chicken with a side of the Rasta Pasta. The meat was so flavorful, and cooked just right where it fell off the bone. The vegetable sides were fresh and crisp, and the pasta cooked just right. The cafe is clean and everything seems new, and apart from some wobble in the table, everything looked perfect. The bathroom was spotless. The server, a younger female whose name I unfortunately did not get, was attentive and always smiling. I was the only customer in the cafe when I arrived, which disappointed me, because I hope they get busier — it’s worth it.

Let's explore Antiguan cuisine at this restaurant! Bernadine, the owner and chef, is truly passionate about cooking, and you can taste that dedication in every dish. The combination of mushrooms, saltfish, and eggplants was exceptional. I'm a fan of anything made with corn flour, including grits, polenta, and cornbread. Soon, as our waiter Ben pointed out, they sold out of their cornmeal dishes! The brown stew chicken served with rice and peas was also delightful. Don't miss the strong and flavorful ginger beer and ginger tea. I’m excited to have visited this restaurant and can’t wait to try more items from their menu!

ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA Eat the World NYC review: A combination of breakfast, burgers, pan-southern and pan-Caribbean cuisine makes up most of the menu here at Cafe Metro to make sure a net is cast wide enough to stay in business. But make a point to come here from Friday to Sunday when some special Antiguan fare is available from the home country of the chef and owner. This ducana with saltfish is a unique flavor combination, but they also have fungi, fish soup, and curry conch. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

The food was fantastic. Service was great. I got the curry shrimp, and they were cooked perfectly. They seemed to be out of a few things, but I'm chalking that up to the items being popular. Looking forward to visiting more often.
