Although the quality of the food and the ambiance was good, there was too much dysfunction with the wait staff and service. Our server only spoke French and it was awkward and confusing for her as well as us. Last time I checked we were not in France! Although this restaurant is a BYOB, they did not offer us a wine cooler, and our server took our wine to a back area of the restaurant where I guess they keep all the beverages that people bring in. my wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant dinner in this charming restaurant before visiting a performance in the paper mill playhouse. the restaurant is beautifully decorated and looks like a pariser bistro. the personal is friendly and service is attentive. I ordered the salmon and my wife ordered the duck. Both dishes were delicious. all together, a very beautiful experience
Had a great time. The dinner exceeded our expectations. Cafe Monet is homey and personalized. Very much a home-made feel, they want you to love it, they want you back.
