An early start searching for cassowaries in the Daintree meant a long time between coffees. The surprise of the Daintree Is how many places dot the road, now mostly tarred through the jungle. Ions ago, roadside blocks were sold off and now houses and cafes...and the occasional place to stay obscure your true experience. For the rain forest, you have to get out and walk some of the well worn and maintained forest paths. After several hours what better place to pull up than Cafe on Sea , aptly named with views across the Coral Sea. Tempting as it may be to go for a dip, the thought of being eaten by a croc stops that. Instead it was coffee on the verandah overlooking the ocean. Food was unadve...
This is a good place to stop to stretch your legs during a long drive. It's a simple no-frills place. There is parking and rest-rooms. We didn't try the food but got a couple of drinks. The service was friendly and fast. We ordered our...drinks at the counter, they gave us a card with a number so they would know where we were sitting, and they brought us our drinks a few moments later. Cafe on Sea is located right on the edge of a beach and has lovely views of the ocean.
Unfortunately, the best thing I can say about this cafe is that it is clean. My partner ordered the barramundi and I had the seafood basket, but everything seemed to be frozen with no fresh seafood in sight. It was disappointing for a place like this. Just stop by for a coffee and a walk on the beach.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover this hidden gem. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. It seems like they may have recently changed ownership, as I didn't experience any issues with lack of rolls or tablets wrapped in tinfoil like mentioned in previous reviews. We had a taster plate for 2 which was all fried food and a small salad. That being said it was delicious with spring rolls, some prawn rolls, chips, money bags. The view is lovely looking over a little island and lovely white sand beach....We thoroughly enjoyed our stop here.

We were just looking for a coffee and a snack, and we were greeted by a very hospitable and friendly waitress. We enjoyed a delicious homemade roll and the coffee was decent. Our walk on the beach afterwards was very enjoyable and a rewarding experience.

Grest place to stop and admire the blue ocean and white sand. Get a cold drink and find some shade. You can get good food and coffee here.
