I stopped here to have the 15 € lunch menu, because the bakery across the road was shut and I was terribly hungry after a long walk in the surrounding mountains. The waitress sat me at a table toward the middle of the restaurant. It was a sunny September day, but where she put me felt damp. I took out my sweater and put it on, but still felt cold. After my starter, their green salad, I asked if I could sit by the window where the sun was shining in and the waitress said no. By then I was the only diner in the restaurant. I moved there anyway. Our drive to Viscos was taking longer than expected as one of the mountain pass roads had closed due to a small avalanche requiring a detour up through Lourdes. We were hungry when we came to the cute town of Bruges-Capbis-Mifaget. Everything in the main square looked closed, but I parked the care and tried the door at Cafe du Commerce. They were open for late lunch and there were a few locals dining and having a pleasant time. So we sat ourselves down and enjoyed a lovely lunch, too. The employees' English was about as good as our French--but with our limited mutual linguistic skills and our food translation sheet, we ordered 2 really lovely meals.
