I have been eating at this café for several years. Some of their wait staff are so rude, I recall my last 3 visits, my girlfriend asked for water several times, til she had to go get it herself. Then on another occasion I had foil in my breakfast and hair the next. We got our meals free after. Also the waiter got my girlfriend's order wrong after repeating it at least 3times. I even confirmed it for him. The last time we visited this same waiter yanked our documents off the table to clean the table and then dropped them down crumpling them. He did not greet us at all. I then asked for a manager and wrote down my concerns and told them we will never dine there again, as they are rude. Worst e...
We have been here several times in the past and were excited to see the new menu. While everything sounded good, we weren't overly impressed with the taste. The best meal was the snapper cooked in the wood fired oven- definitely a standout, but this was on the specials menu. My salad with crab was ok, the crab balls were very tasty but didn't really go well with the rocket salad. The trio of pizzas were dry and underwhelming- the best bit was the freshly sliced prosciutto. The burger was average- again not very tasty. The desserts and coffee were nice- the apple crumble was delicious. The service was very good, as always. Not sure if I will hurry back...sorry guys.
Having eaten or taken-away pizza from all of the wood-fired pizza places in Camberwell, Surrey Hills and Balwyn over recent years, the authentic Italian-style pizzas from Short Black in Camberwell have become my favourite! I've eaten in and ordered take-away and each time, the pizzas have been excellent. The service is friendly and co-operative and the take-away pizza was ready for collection at the time nominated. The restaurant was jam-packed on a recent Friday night, so bookings advisable. Oh, and the coffee and cakes are great for a morning or afternoon tea. Highly recommended for coffee, lunch or dinner!
Came here as part of the Dimmi deal. No one in our group lives anywhere near here.Came on a saturday night and the place was relatively quiet which did concern me as some of the reviews here weren't the best.The head waiter was good. He is very friendly and knew how to up sell. The other waitress is something else. She really has no sense of when customer s are ready. she had to be told multiple times we were not ready and this included trying to clear our plates. When you do want her then she is no where to be seen.The food was actually quite tasy.,

I have been to this cafe several times as I work nearby. I have only had short black coffee and I have found it better than average. The last 2 times I went however I had a female waitress that was very rude and seemed to lack any insight into the concept of service. It is a simple thing to take an order and then deliver the coffee but I was offended to the point I wouldn't go back
Great place to recharge after a shopping trip. The menu caters to all tastes with many tempting choices on offer. Service was prompt and delivered by friendly, welcoming staff. Coffee was fine and delivered with food, as requested.
Attended for a business breakfast. Food was very good, smashed avocado with poached eggs. Only thing I would improve was the avocado was very very cold.
Wondered what this would be like after the previous comments But thought I'd see for myself

Had no idea why I was there for breakfast , breakfast was bad at this place that's all I could remember , it's not a good place for breakfast ????
