The location of Mabu Cafe is at Brimley and Huntingwood/Middlefield, in the Chartwell Shopping Centre. This Hong Kong café has a modern atmosphere. I tried the traditional baked rice with beef and cheese, which was tasty but the portion was small. The lemon tea looked great, but it was not made in the traditional style with syrup on the side. I also enjoyed the pineapple bun with butter, which was delicious due to the thick slice of butter. It was quiet when I visited for lunch. There was a sign on the table explaining that the Hong Kong milk tea is high in caffeine and milk fat. We ordered 蔥油雞扒撈丁and 芝士咖哩雞扒撈丁, the noodles were overcooked and both the green onion sauce and the curry sauce were not enough and the noodles were too dry. We asked for some extra sauce but there would be $1.5 extra for the curry sauce. It was a rip off! And we were also told that only the soy sauce was free of charge. Hello?! I don't think there is any restaurant will charge you for soy sauce! Besides, using soy sauce to replace the curry sauce, that was unbelievable, you can imagine how would our 芝士咖喱雞扒撈丁的味道！Very bad experience and will never go bad!
Was at the restaurant on 5/18. The wait was about 1/2 hour, which wasn't bad. The decor was fun and the service was great. The food was very good. Better than the other Hong Kong style cafes in Chinatown and Brooklyn. My favorite was their roast pork with lard and sunny side eggs. Their drinks were also good. Love their Hong Kong style tea with milk, very silky. My 10 year old nephew loved their pasta in a bread bowl! Will definitely return to try all the items on their huge menu.

Often been to the Mabu on Hwy 7, first time visit the one in Scarborough. Feel like back in time in the restaurant. The decoration is like old Hong Kong and music is 20-30 years ago. Food is very tasty, especially the eel and egg rice is my favourite. App ordering is good but they should consider improvement on the app. Every time when I get to the last step to place order, it brought me all the way back to other pages. Really need to be patient when using the app.
Pretty happy with the experience, this place is different from the one on highway 7. This one is HK themed, whereas the one on highway 7 is TW themed. This place has more mini hotpot choices, which I like. The rice order was smaller compared to other HK restaurants for sure, but tasty.

Went here for dinner. Food was expected good but abit not hot enough. I ordered myself a baked curry chicken steak rice and it came out only warm after a 30mins wait time. The restaurant is only less than half full when we place our order.

I ordered the Taiwanese BBQ sausage and pork with rice at this restaurant. The atmosphere is very cool as well!
