A gem of Falmouth town, The Stand has become an almost weekly pit-stop for me, to hideaway and people watch comforted by a full Cornish or English with good local sausages and mushrooms cooked tastefully. The service is always warm and conscientious with a full provision of available condiments. A usually welcome playlist or radio runs with some pop classics or alternative hits, if I 'm not listening to a podcast. A good place to meet a friend for a catch-up and they serve a respectable standard of coffee for an traditional English 'greasy spoon ' style caf. Matti and his friendly team make a visit to the cafe an inviting, fun and totally delicious experience. We went in to the unassuming cafe expecting any old ramen and came out full of homemade noodles, umami-to-the-max broth, crunchy chicken wings and halloumi fries all washed down with a beer. We left smiling from ear to ear. It’s a Little gem here! Had a Cornish breakfast with hogs pudding, my Wife had the same and a coffee each. Was it nice? OH YES There’s quality food and then there’s this cafe. Good ingredients, very well cooked and staff very attentive and pleasant. Plenty of good wholesome food. Going to make a few more visits to this place I think.
