We recently spent a night in Maisons Lafitte and wanted to take friends to dinner who liver there. They recommended the Caffe e Cucina, and boy was that ever a great choice! Right on the old berg's main dag, the CeC boasta few tables outdoors on the very wide sidewalk - not an option before Christmas. The restaurant is not very wide, but it is larger than you think, leading deep into the back of the building. We were taken to a nice table in the second section of the railroad-style establishment, right across from the pizzaiolo. Our server was very attentive and prompt and very pleasant. I have eaten here 3 times in the last 6 months, most recently on Friday night. Am consistently disappointed.What can I say, this place is pretty bad. The waiting staff (4-5) seem irritated by the idea of customers and uninterested in serving them even when there's nothing else to do.First impression - menus are dirty and need to be wiped.Spaghetti bolognaise arrives within 2-3 minutes of being ordered. At least the kitchen should pretend to make it fresh, not just reheating it. Now prompt service is good but seriously this is faster than fast food.....If you order an aperitif your food may arrive before the aperitif does.Pizzas are at best average and are lacking in taste. My husband and I had the lunch menu today. The salade was very nice, the dessert, a chocolade cake from the oven, was burnt on the bottom completely. The staff was not impressed and after a long time waiting I was offered another dessert from the menu. I said a coffee instead would do. And so I got a cup of coffee. My husband did not get o e or was asked if he would like to have a coffee too. A bit dissapointing, for this wasted an opportunity on a good client relation.
Italian tradi cuisine, all homemade, Caroline receives you with the smile and quality of the dishes is at the rendezvous. I love going with family I highly recommend

Excellent pizza good value though think the Chianti carafe was in fact Montepulciano. Friendly staff, clean, nice window seat. Would go back
