I have visited Cafe Nero twice over the last month or so, both times the customer service was absolutely shocking. The first time I visited I entered and was the only person in the queue. There were two girls behind the counter. Upon approaching the counter I could see they were chatting away. As I stood at the counter the chatting continued for a good two minutes or so. I finally got served when I asked one of the girls if anyone was serving. She gave me a look as if it had rudely interrupted her and went to make my cappuccino making it very obvious this was out of her way. My second visit today I experienced exactly the same thing. I have to say something. I have been coming here for years. Pleasant and friendly staff, great coffee and always a familiar face to sit with if I'm on my own. BUT recently the staff have been slow and dour looking. I had to ask for a plate and knife for my pastry as it was just plonked on the tray. It seems Holywood is not the only shop either. I went to the one in Newtownards and was told I had to have a paper cup even though I was sitting in. I'm sorry but I like to have a proper cup to enjoy my coffee. In these times of numerous coffee shops to choose from Neros needs to check itself and bring back the standards patrons are used to.
Fully negative. I was order today from this cafe.They didn't send the cakes and refuse to get money back. I was have to go back to cafe and said them they have give anything else or get money back.And when I come back they had almost everything what i was order but to lazy to put in the bag. In the muffin which i get that was staple. Inside the muffins which child gonna be eat, the good think i was find it before child get it. Fully negative !! And of course refuse to get back money for delivery.
I visited Cafe Nero today and not long after arriving, I witnessed a young female customer take a seizure and yell for help. A young barista came from behind the counter and sat with her reassuring her until she came out of the episode. She was so attentive, caring and warm towards the girl, phoned the customers mum, made her a fresh cup of coffee and said she would sit with her until her mum arrived. I was touched by her lovely manner and my faith in humanity has been restored!

Sad to hear MichaelB referring to a customer who wants to talk to everyone as the Village idiot. I think I know who you mean and he is a regular visitor, has learning difficulties but is very friendly and does like to talk to everyone. He is actually very popular with the regulars. Thought the days of referring to people with a mental handicap/learning difficulties as a village idiot were long gone.
I'm a regular customer but oh my how the standards are dropping . One customer who walks right behind the counter and is given the telephone to use as his personal phone . Then proceeds to insult anyone around him . It has actually put me off visiting the shop . The staff who are friendly to all don't seem to have any control of this person's forward behaviour . .. definitely not be visiting again
We were shocked at the cleanliness of this branch on a recent Sunday morning visit. The floors were actually filthy, possibly the worst I have ever seen in any place that sells food! We were one of the first customers through the door, early morning so the dirt was from previous days. What is Cafe Neros policy on cleanliness? Before posting this review I did email them asking but no response.
Another Nero gem, this shop is great for a break whilst shopping in Holywood. Staff and coffee and snacks great as usual. Only difficulty can be getting parked! But it's worth it

Nice coffee. Very slow service. The upholstered chairs were scruffy and stained. Ready for the rubbish dump. Needs a shake up.
The staff are lovely in here and the coffees are made exactly the way you asked .. they have great baristas !
