Popped in with a friend last week after not visiting for a while. We didn't stay. It was quite full but none of the tables were wiped while we waited for one that came available. While we waited no member of staff asked if we wanted to wait; if they could help us etc. It is said that the Emperor Nero played his fiddle while Rome burned. Like him, the staff seemed not too interested in what was happening around them. Maybe if the place had a facelift in terms of decor, it might be more welcoming and make the staff more willing. I recently visited Cafe Nero for the first time and I must say, it was the best coffee I have had in a long time. They offer a nice selection of hot and cold sandwiches, cakes, and more, but I highly recommend trying their coffee if you are in the area. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
I only stopped here as I was early for an appointment nearby. Very busy branch. Clean. Friendly and fast service. Nice atmosphere. Had an americano to drink and the gingerbread biscuit. Good and can't complain. Fast free wifi.
Coffee in a beautifully appointed cafe with yummy cake or pasta or porridge depending on the time of day makes Nero a lovely place to unwind in. Staff needs to smile a bit more though to sweeten a cold welcome:
