12/13/22 My intention is to come back and try some other things because I was seriously underwhelmed by their blackened redfish which was overcooked. My dogs and cat really liked it though. However, shimmering had recommended it and I know that I was running this risk with what I ordered, so to be fair I have to return. The onion rings were the teeny ones and they were yummy but too greasy. But I took them home, popped them in the air fryer and they were then perfection. I got the Holiday White Russian and it was too sweet. I went here with some friends on a Tuesday afternoon. The overall experience was pretty good! The restaurant was kinda busy, but there was no wait. Just the perfect amount. Our waitress was really good, regularly checking in and giving updates on the time till our food was ready. The food itself was decent. It wasn't the best gumbo I've ever had but it was still pretty good! It had some nice flavor and it was a great amount for the price. It didn't stand out but I'd get it again. This was our first visit to Cajun Critters, and the restaurant had a pleasant and clean ambiance both inside and out. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and our food arrived at the table promptly. However, I gave it only 3 stars because my shrimp po-boy and onion rings were completely devoid of seasoning—no salt, pepper, or anything. While the onion rings and shrimp were crispy and not greasy, they were disappointingly bland. Once fried food sits for a moment after being cooked, it becomes hard to season at the table. My wife ordered snow crabs, and while the clusters were large, they arrived at room temperature. My dish was served hot, so it seems her snow crabs had been sitting out wait...
I WAS HERE FOR CRAWFISH.. but they were soggy and had no taste! a few dead definitely more than a couple. When it comes to crawfish I'll pay whatever.. so to tell me I have to dine in ONLY to get a tray of about 20 crawdads a $3 sausage and a $3 sprite plus a tip that was deserved cause our waitress was very sweet! Might I add the oysters were very delicious!! Now back to the crawdads ...don't waste your money or your time cause I was very disappointed my total for my daughter and I came up to 89.00 plus a tip...just ridiculous but the new location is nice it was clean but I should've known when I walked in I DIDNT SMELL NO CRAWFISH!
The food has consistently been fresh and delicious. The waitress was extremely attentive and kept us informed about our meals. This is my favorite spot in town, especially because there are plenty of options for those who prefer not to eat fried food. Everything was well-seasoned, and the dessert was just as delightful.
The food was fantastic, and the service was excellent! I will definitely return next time I’m in the area! The gumbo was amazing, the potato salad was exceptional, the fried cauliflower was delightful, and the chicken was incredibly delicious.
My friends ate there for lunch today. Shrimp stew was the special. The worst tasting stew I have ever had. The shrimp salad was awful. The shrimp tasted as though they were from a can. What a disgrace in south Louisiana. Never again.
All the food is good here. Service is great! Great place to bring kids to play outside and dining is available outside too. Some nights there is live music.
Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and delicious food what could be better! Get the family together and go out to enjoy a great time at Critters
