I recently returned from San Diego and discovered this cake shop. The pies are beautiful and I decided to give them a try. They cater to vegans, which I appreciate. The prices are reasonable and the cakes are delicious! As an Asian, I have visited many upscale cake shops, but they are typically only for special occasions. I will definitely be returning to this business soon to try more of their cookies, cakes, and other treats. The staff is also lovely.
The papadi chat was disappointing, the pani puri was just okay, but the pastries were good. Owners, please consider learning how to make a delicious and spicy papdi and samosa chat from a Pakistani expert. Papdi chaat should not be sweet, but flavorful, with crunchy and delicate papdi. The pani puri water should be tangy, not sweet – consider using tamarind for a more authentic taste.
This used to be my favorite place before Covid hit. They always maintained high quality and never let me down. Their Badam cakes and custard are fantastic! Unfortunately, due to Covid, their pani puri counter is temporarily closed, but their live pani puri (available on Fridays and weekends) is a must-try!
I love going to Cakes and Bakes because they offer a variety of chaats and we enjoy all of their cake flavors, except for the Falooda which was a bit dry and lacking in falooda flavor. The chilli chicken was delicious with a mild level of spice, but the papdi chat was disappointing. It tasted like drinking tamarind water, with only tamarind juice and a lot of papdi. I would stick to the samosa chat here, as it has never let me down.
We ordered our Gender Reveal Cake Butterscotch flavor and it was so amazing!! We showed a picture for the cake and it turned out to be even more beautiful. The flavor of the cake was amazing. I would highly recommend this place for your next event.
Gongura paneer Biryani from Cakes and Bakes is my go-to comfort food. I can enjoy this dish at any time and any place. Unfortunately, their Sunnyvale location is now closed. This is definitely the best Gongura paneer Biryani in the Bay Area.

The portion size of the ragda was extremely small. It may be enough for 2 puris, but definitely not enough for 8 of them.
