Always a popular choice. I had the lunch special of ham and cheese, but I was disappointed to not see the anadama bread on the menu. However, the delicious spicy ginger snap cookies made up for it. One of my favorite items was the cranberry maple sweet hot mustard - the only mustard I use. Luckily, the staff was able to order it for me. They also had a great selection of candies, jellies, popcorn, assorted cheeses, and prepared meals. This old-fashioned general store is a must-see for anyone looking to satisfy their appetite.
I must say, this is one of the best country stores in New Hampshire. The deli has excellent, fresh meats. Kids will enjoy the penny candy section, as well as all the other treats available. They also have homemade jams, spreads, and pickling kits. The front display is filled with various chocolates, truffles, and fudge. The staff is very friendly and exudes old-fashioned charm.
I visited this restaurant for the first time and had a great experience. It's located in a good area store and I was able to buy my granddaughter a jar of pickle juice, which she loves. This was the only place that sold it, so it made our day. We also visited the neighboring Elfmade restaurant and enjoyed that experience as well. Overall, it was worth the visit.
This restaurant is located in a charming country house that is filled with locally produced items such as maple syrup, canned goods, homemade fudge, local honey, special cheeses, old-fashioned toys, and family games. This place is my absolute favorite restaurant in all of New England. I was disappointed when I couldn't go last time because I was sick, so I can't wait to go back. I'm looking forward to my next visit and I'll make sure to take my time and enjoy it. It's the best! I love the welcoming smell when I walk in the door, it reminds me of home. Cozy and warm!
I have loved Calef's since I first discovered it about 15 years ago. Even though I now live in Las Vegas, I always enjoy coming back to visit. The cheddar cheese they offer is delicious, I always purchase some to take home. Their unique selection of old-fashioned candies and treats is so much fun to buy!
we've been hitting a lot of paints, after a lot. we decided to stop at last. the place was absolutely amazing! from penny sweets, stinky cheese and pickles, to the beautiful decor, fragrant smells and friendly faces! something for all! we will definitely be over again!
