Honestly, I frequently order takeout from this place, but lately, it feels like the staff are just going through the motions. During my last visit, I placed my order and received a vibrating tag indicating my food would be ready in 10 to 15 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, I approached the counter to check on my order. The employee handed me my food, which had clearly been sitting out for a while. She didn't offer any utensils, napkins, or anything else; she just said everything was in the bag. It's hard to shake the feeling that they don't want to be there. I found the food quite enjoyable, even though I had it about two hours after buying it. The service was a bit unconventional; they set the food on a table and called out names, which made it somewhat difficult to hear. The atmosphere was pleasant, with few trash cans in sight. Additionally, there were options available for both vegans and those on a keto diet.
I thoroughly enjoy the fresh food at this restaurant, regardless of what I choose. I appreciate the addition of chimichurri sauce as an option. It would be nice if they could expand their drink selection as well. The portion sizes appear to be smaller than they were in the past, but the prices remain quite reasonable considering the quality of the food.
The giant shrimp cooked Cajun-style, served with roasted street corn and cauliflower rice, has become my new favorite dish at this restaurant. My husband enjoyed the garlic butter and also liked the sweet potato fries, but he particularly loved the white rice. We highly recommend this place as a healthier option for lunch dates. Fabulous! I only wish we had a location in DC! Truly the most scrumptious fish taco I've ever had the swai was a great choice. I found the ahi tuna to be simply delectable. One of the best places I ate at during my recent trip to Los Angeles.
They only provide a small cup of dressing for a salad that is primarily made up of lettuce. After using the single tablespoon of dressing they give you, I ended up having to eat most of my salad without any dressing.
The shrimp salad could use some improvement, especially concerning the asparagus, which has tough sections that make it less enjoyable to eat. I wouldn't recommend it, at least not with the asparagus included.

The shrimp battered fish, shrimp taco combo, and fish taco combo are incredibly tasty! This is the best spot in Downey for Baja-style real fish tacos, and I know my tacos!
