California Taco Shop

I went to California Taco Shop after a quick side gig. I was immediately drawn in to the colorful dining area. On the left was the counter to order. I ended up ordering the nacho fries with shredded chicken. Which looked and sounded delicious. By the time I was able to eat it, about an hour and a half later, it was still slightly warm, and a tasty mess of melted cheese, chicken, and potato-ey goodness. Two spoonfuls of guacamole and sour cream stood atop the carbohydrate madness. Of note was that some of the fries looked like they bonded to the styrofoam the food was placed in. Enjoyed some grilled chicken and charro crispy taco supremes. The charro was a mix of steak and chorizo and had good flavor and came with some sauces. The tacos were in the smaller side, but can't complain as they are inexpensive and the shells were nice. Tons of protein options for tacos as well as many other menu items to pick from. I walked in and ordered takeout and waited about 20 minutes so calling ahead may be your best bet. Parking is a bit weird and the shop is near a right turn only light. The staff were friendly and helpful and the interior was clean and had tables to sit at and eat--no table service.

While the food is great.. the customer service is not. After placing an order and it being wrong (I order two food items , I called them to notify the situation. When I called, I was told by the manager that it’s not her fault because she repeated it back and that she can’t fix the situation. (When she DID NOT repeat it back.. I wasn’t looking for money back.. I was just looking for the CORRECT food item I DID order… it’s such a shame a place with good food has horrible customer service… ruins the whole place. Thanks for fixing our issue.

Stopped this afternoon while in search of some traditional tacos and boy, they did not disappoint. Got 4 assorted tacos and they were fantastic. Friendly and helpful. Next time I'm in the area I will be back!
