My Ethiopian single origin espresso went something like this: Massive sourness (this goes on for a while) A quick floral note (beautiful flavour, but lasts only for a second) Horrible sourness returns along with some saltiness Strange bitterness Quick finish I did not get any sweetness, there was no complexity. It tasted like not enough flavour was taken out of coffee. Such a shame and waste of good quality coffee beans. The staff seem nice and the cafe takes social distancing/health+safety seriously.
I stumbled across this place by accident on my way back from a business trip and was tempted in by the unassuming and welcoming nature of the exterior. What I found inside was some of the most delicious coffee I've ever had, served with a smile, a tasty lunchtime snack and staff more than happy to offer a rookie like me some valuable grinding and brewing advice. Would love to revisit one day.
I stopped by on my way to the train station before heading back to Liverpool. As soon as I walked in, the wonderful smell of fresh coffee hit me. The coffee house was bright, but not too bright, and had a relaxed atmosphere. Ben took my order and was happy to give me some tips on brewing coffee at home. He was very knowledgeable, polite, and patient. I would definitely visit again.
Having researched beforehand, this shop advertised having WiFi and laptop areas. I checked this again when ordering coffee but the WiFi was ‘secured but unavailable’ after I entered the password. The coffee served at Campbell and Syme is a great treat, especially comparing with other coffees sold at most place in the UK. It is an independent, not a chain, and they have a good choice of great tasting coffees and also serve some food, with quite a limited choice, but what is served is also excellent.
If you are a coffee connoisseur, there is no better choice than this cafe in East Finchley. It is undoubtedly one of the top cafes in London. The staff here have a deep understanding of coffee and prepare each cup with meticulous care and expertise.
We visited this place for the first time and I highly recommend it. The food was excellent and was served in a timely manner and was of good quality. Staff very friendly and polite. A comprehensive menu that's reasonable priced.
