Canaan Restaurant just recently got remodel and looks so much better now. They are the “OG” authentic Chinese restaurant in the area beside Sam Woo. This is a perfect place to go for lunch special (Mon to Fri and regular price on weekend) with family and friends. They have wonderful lunch special and menu selections. I love their Taiwanese styles breakfast and Shanghainese style for lunch and dinner. They have family meal deals and a la carte options.Quick tips: It’s located in a small corner of the plaza. They just recently remodel (Aug 2022) so everything is new and modem inside.
The Chinese/Taiwanese food here is pretty average. The pork chops were a bit too salty, and the fried crab was overly oily, with very little meat. On the other hand, the Mongolian beef and cabbage paired well with the rice. The waitstaff were friendly, and the service was quick; we didn’t wait more than 5-7 minutes for our food. It was satisfying enough, especially since I was very hungry. Overall, it’s a decent spot that I would recommend for a quick lunch, but not for a memorable dining experience or atmosphere.
This place deserves an easy 9.8! The food is delicious, the dining chairs are comfortable, and the service was prompt, with quick table clearing and order taking. The spicy wontons were incredibly flavorful and fresh, while the dumplings were juicy and satisfying. It’s a perfect spot for a date or a casual solo outing. The prices were reasonable, and I left feeling happy and satisfied.

One of the things I look forward to the most when visiting LA is the Taiwanese food. We came to this restaurant to get Taiwanese breakfast and it did not disappoint! There's a pretty big selection of breakfast items. We ordered some sweet soy milk, turnip cake, egg pancake with pork sung, and a purple rice roll. Everything was very tasty. Overall, would recommend.
Taiwan Chinese. Very good. Small place so may have to wait as it is popular. Got the lobster chow mein, crab and Fishman soup and shredded pork and bamboo and orange chicken. All well done. My friends that live in the area goes at least once a week. Recommended.
Diverse Asian menu as there is a lot to choose from. The food was excellent with nice sized portions. Staff was very friendly and the service was good. I highly recommend.
Everything we ordered was delicious! Loved their sizzling rice soup, salt pepper squid, pan fried noodles, and 3 ingredient Kung Pao. Perfect amount of spice and flavors.

We have been coming here over and over. It’s comfort food for our family. It’s a Taiwanese restaurant with many of our favorite dishes.
Consistent great food and service... definitely a place for Taiwanese cuisine.
