Everyone I know who had eaten there said it was expensive but worth every dime. Having had great expectations of the place, this evening had been utter disappointment. For this price, I expect good service and decent food. When we walked in, the member of staff didn't offer a smile and just showed us to our place. The starters were good (calamari and prawns), but the main weren't great. The duck breast was chewy, not tender; the fish was dry, needed more sauce; lobster linguine was okay I guess? I was still hungry and wanted dessert, but after the disappointing meal I didn't want to waste more money on more disappointment. Took forever to pay our bill as staff always seemed to be elsewhere....
Hubby surprised me with a table for 2 on Valentines night! After 23 years, 4 kids, 4 grandkids and an empty piggy-bank, it is a rare treat for us to celebrate valentines in quite such a special way! Great friendly staff who were very attentive, setting/atmosphere was really lovely, and the food was absolutely amazing! All in all a wonderful evening! Thankyou Canaletto
We came by this place by chance whilst staying in the area. We would definitely return in future after an excellent meal and service. The choice of house wines were really good too! The waiter went out of his way to show me the bottle. I should also point out the interior and surrounding were done to a high standard.
Our first visit but hopefully not our last as all the food was excellent good provision made for children also gluten free requirements within our group. The service was very friendly, efficient and prompt, which we were delighted about we were ravenous after some of our group arrived very late.
We had lunch at Canaletto today it was a bit of a late decision. What an excellent choice it turned out to be. The restaurant is lovely and the staff were excellent. Most importantly, the food was superb. This place is a bit of a jewel we look forward to returning!!
Excellent genuine Italian food served by cordial, knowledgeable staff. We were staying in Waddesdon for two nights and ate dinner both nights there. The desserts were fabulous. Prices were very reasonable and the portions perfectly suited our appetites.
beautiful meal here on Saturday night. friendly and welcoming service, despite our arrival before they actually open, and excellent eating. the fire in the bar and a great pint when we arrived was just what we needed. very recommended and we are back.
We visited Thursday 20th April 2017 for my daughters 26th Birthday. Had a wonderful starter, main meal, wine and dessert. All the staff sang happy Birthday to Danielle. Can't wait to re-visit :
Dined in Canaletto with friends to celebrate my wife's birthday. The menu was comprehensive and can recommend the veal. The service was excellent. Recommended.
