My partner was really excited to visit a place that serves black pudding. I'm not a fan of pudding, but the white pudding is quite good. The prices are reasonable; pudding and chips are $8.50, and the Sunday midday special for fish and chips is just $6.95. There are also burgers available for around $7.95, and the $1.50 for a dose of Irn Bru is the best price I've seen. I noticed another review mentioned it was cash-only, but they now have an Eftpos machine. It gets busy during peak hours, but the staff is friendly and seems to be efficient. Just arrived on Good Friday for a fish and chips obviously expecting a rush and indeed there was, but all staff were lovely and kind while dealing with Karen’s who complain that they are busy on one of the busiest days of the year. The staff here were very patient with the verbal abuse that was being directed at them due to customers that were having a whinge about waiting. Thank you to the staff that were so lovely and kind! Being a patient customer pays off! I’ll be coming back
The candle wood fish and chip shop is a good little chippy, with good size potions of food at good price. My missies likes a good piece of fish and said it was tasty and fresh testing and fair size, she even went as fair as saying it was better than the Great British Chippy.The only niggle i have was the Burger was a little cold but still tasted ok.Definitely worth a second visit, and definitely recommend others to visit.
I only had the barramundi and chips, as well as the Works Burger. The fish and chips were great, but the burger was the worst I’ve had in 34 years. I would definitely recommend avoiding the burgers.

recently changed hands and has gone the best fish and chips to the worst (:say food will be ready in 15 minutes and over an hour without apology or reason.
cost $105 for the family of 4 fish and chips. chips were terrible! fish was many small pieces not really filets by snapper. will not be back.
Generous servings, tasty and freshly cooked. Friendly staff. Also uses vegetable oil for cooking. Not to oily and fish is lightly battered.
general sizes, very beautiful and long lasting crispy texture. very happy with their service also!
