We booked on advice. 4 adults 3 children only 2 of us English. Our Portuguese friend (a chef) ordered 4 different main course specialities on the menu. He was told to only order the one that they had already prepared because it would take 30 minutes to prepare. That is probably because when they did arrived they didn't actually differ in flavour. I love ensopado do borrego and have eaten it across Portugal but this one was the worse one I have had. The worse part was when asked for ice creams for the children we were told there was only 3 traditional desserts avaulable. So when the next tables children came out after with ice creams it really summed up our experience. Poor service bordering...
Uma joia escondida, talvez? Bom almoço aqui; ensopado barato e delicioso de borrego assado e javali. Excelentes vistas do terraço, embora precariamente situado numa encosta à beira da estrada. Éramos os únicos clientes aqui na chegada, mas outros apareceram mais tarde. Serviço excelente como resultado. Grande valor. Atualmente aberto apenas na hora do almoço. Eu seria muito cauteloso ao dirigir aqui à noite.
We visited here in July and were overwhelmed by the delights on offer. The staff were very warm and friendly and patrons are mostly locals who travel to the restaurant for lunch or dinner. It’s always busy which is no surprise!
Lovely views over the hill tops. The food, especially the Javali (wild boar) is very good with unique country flavours. A little drive out of Santa Katarina into the hills is worth the effort Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
A faire si vous voulez vivre une expérience locale loin d’un tourisme. Un petit paradis, vue incroyable. Plat maison excellents. Un plat suffirait pour 2. Prix plus que raisonnables
Comida caseira de grande qualidade, provámos bifinhos com ananás e castanha, e borrego assado, tudo muito bom. Excelente relação qualidade/preço, todas as sobremesas caseiras.
Lovely home cooked food. Everything we had was really tasty and the house wine was very nice too. Stunning view and great value too. Highly recommended
