Took my husband for his birthday to try something new. Food was amazing, restaurant is clean, and staff attentive. We did not know what to expect as we had never had this type of food. We went to the counter, asked some questions and then went to sit down to look at menu. You order at the counter, get a number and they call you up like fast food, but the food does not taste like fast food.The head chef (not sure if he was the owner) came over to us to explain the food. He answered all questions and gave some suggestions for us newbies, some who eat spicy, and some who do not. Three out of the five of us are picky eaters, The only thing left on our plates was what we could not physically fit...
I've had lunch at this eatery twice now and ordered the Tandoori Chicken Dinner both times! Amazingly delicious and fresh, but the order took a really long time to arrive. The restaurant is set-up very "fast food" style. Go to the front and place your order and then sit down and wait for your number to be called. Lunch took 25 minutes for my order number to be called, so not the best place if you are in a rush. The food is awesome and the staff are friendly, though they did not apologize for the lengthy wait. Will definitely go back, but will be mindful of my time :)
I've been to a lot of Afghan restaurants, though this one seals the deal. I had the chicken breast dinner was highly pleased with the quality of ingredients and portion sizes. It's like they season the chicken with spices that are from another planet; too good to be from earth.Skip the fast food and make it down here for a nutritious ethnic meal.
The combo is good for 3-4 persons. The rice and fresh bread add to the flavour of the meal. Lots of appetizers to choose for veggies/bread. The atmosphere makes you escape and imagine you are in Middle East country. The owner is hospitable and friendly. I loved the food, the koftas and chaplee burger are a must haves, they are so juicy and cooked to perfection that you want to have it again and again. The ambience is average. I wished this had service , its a self serve restuarant, its Mcdonalds serving kabobs .But i would definetly go here again for the food.
Had a wonderful, fresh, flavorful lunch!! Kabobs, salad and naan bread. Had a little bit of a wait but worth it! All meals that came out of the kitchen looked awesome! Another have to stop in and eat while in the area!
If you like Afghani/middle eastern food, it's a good choice, specially if you are on budget. But keep in mind the service could be painstakingly slow specially in a busy hour. Interior is clean but nothing fancy.
