This large restaurant is located in downtown Envigado, across the street from (south of) Parque Envigado. It has a large menu of typical Colombian food plus hamburgers and ribs from 10,000-30,000 pesos. For lunch they usually have a special menu for about 10mil that can be viewed on a blackboard near the service counter at the entrance to the restaurant. It is usually busy at lunchtime but I have never had to wait for a table. They also serve breakfast. If you don’t speak Spanish ask for Hector who speaks English. Envigado is a separate town immediately south of Medellin on the east side of the river.

I live down the street from this place and its my go to local Paisa place. Food is great, quick and affordable. The place is usually humming with locals. If you combine this with walking around Parque Envigado and the surrounding blocks, you can get a cool "Colombian neighborhood" experience. Dont be fooled by the fact that this is outside of the city proper. Its an incredible dense, vibrant, beautiful urban area.

El plato que mas me gusta de CARBÓN DE LEÑA es la bandeja paisa. Pero todo lo que ofrecen y sirven es delicioso. Los viajeros que visiten ENVIGADO no dejen de probar sus platos. Además el restaurante no tiene pierde, queda sobre el marco del parque principal. Precios cómodos al alcance de todos los bolsillos y un menú variado que incluye carnes y pescados. La atención excelente.
I was on Sunday with a group for lunch. Few people in the restaurant when we arrived, but it filled when the time went on. Locals know it for a fair value and good food. I ordered the menu of the day consisting of frits, chicken fillet, fried egg, salad and rice. Friends ordered other meals and all looked well done and for a fair price.

the food is soooo good here the portions are great my 3 years old loved them fed (shes a piccky eater) but overall it was great!
