Carbón Leña is a great find in Hyattsville. My friend and I love Dominican cuisine and this hit the spot. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the o side is nice. It is tiny though, with just a few tables and some counter seating. By 1:00 pm on a Saturday, it was full. Service is friendly. I got the stewed chicken platter with rice and beans and a side of tostones. My friend got the stewed ribs with rice and beans and a side of platanos amarillos. The restaurant was a bit confusing when I first walked in. I’m giving it 4 stars for service because you enter and only see the dining area, with no one to greet you. You just take a seat, and eventually, someone will come over to assist you. However, once they do, the service is excellent. The portion sizes are generous, and the food tasted fantastic. I ordered the stewed chicken with rice and beans, which was a large serving and absolutely delicious. It’s definitely worth a visit. Give it a try!
I have loved Carbon Leña for yearsssss. I am vegan and Dominican, so finding people that season it just like home while not using animals is so appreciated!! They literally know us as the vegan couple, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Do check it out and enjoy the music, the vibes, the kids running around, and the delicioussssss food.
Food was not good, very slow service. The waiters were super lost. Had to ask for everything like 3 times. Mofongo is not Mangu, if you don't know the difference just don't ?The table near us had a hair on their plate and they didn't even offer a discount. I hate to leave reviews like these but honestly this was not it.

Idk what happen but I feel like now they just want to take you money I order 3 different salads and one of then was avocado by itself so I feel like they work me out of my 30 dollars order and them I can't even eat it cuase it wasn't cut so nonprofessional
I've been coming here for a year now, and I always enjoy my meals. The food is consistently good, hot, and fresh. The restaurant is always clean, and the service is excellent every time.
I ordered a mofongo de chicarrón it came out looking more like Mangu than fried mashed plantains.Idk if they just use left over to make it but was just the worst mofongo I have had
They food is ok and the service is veryyy slow. The pastelitos (empanadas) were clearly reheated. The portions were small for the prices. We were two and paid oren than 60$

1st and last time there. Food was cold, too salty, and undercooked. They over charged me and took two weeks for a refund. Trash!!!!
The service was exceptional! The woman who prepared my empanadas was incredibly friendly, and she made them absolutely delicious.
