When we knew we were coming to Fredericton for the weekend, I did a quick search of caribbean style dining and this restaurant came up on my search. The previous reviews and the recommendation we received from our AirBnb host to dine here was enough for my husband and I to dine here our first night in the city. We love good Jamaican jerk chicken and are always on the search for what we tasted on our honeymoon 12 years ago (in Southern NB there are NOT a lot of caribbean restaurants)This one was the closest we've had to that yummy sweet and spicy kick of the Jerk chicken we enjoyed on the beach so many years ago. Stopped in the Garrison District of Fredricton on our way out east and found this restaurant just off the main drag. I had the curry chicken with “tingle” flavouring; great taste and just enough heat. My husband had the jerk chicken- he said it was very good. I stole some plantain from him and it was perfectly ripe and prepared. Nice casual dining atmosphere. No liquor licence but they are developing mock tails. Zee and her dad were great hosts and lovely to talk to. My family is originally from Jamaica so I have experience with the flavours of the islands.
Food and atmosphere were amazing: We couldn‘t decide what to take because everything sounded so delicious. Therefore we got several platters to share: Curry Chicken, BBQ Maple Beef Rib, Samosas, the Mum’s famous coconut bread together with a delicious caribbean fruit ice tea. The excellent food and warm atmosphere made our family evening perfect!
Fantastic food, fantastic service, just a phenomenal place to visit. This might be the best Caribbean I've had, and their homemade hot sauce was perfect. My group was a bit of a trouble table and they were very helpful and attentive. Owned and run by a very welcoming and friendly family, I'll be coming back here as soon as I can! What an oasis, an authentic taste of the Caribbean with a flair of Indian. We went there for business...left like family. Thank you for bringing de flava!
