Had fish, chips and burgers from Carinya Fish and Chips Takeaway a few times now. Honestly have to say that they make probably the best fish and chips in Mackay.The fish is always good size fillets that are fresh and tasty.Chips are always properly and well cooked and crunchy and good sized portions.Burgers are huge and packed with fresh fillings.Staff are friendly and polite. Orders don't take too long but estimated waiting times are always given. This is a very popular Takeaway so sometimes the wait is longer than other times, so be understanding.Definitely worth a try, you won't be disappointed.
I have ordered 5 meals from here and that includes fish n chips and the Southern fried chicken and I will not be going a 6th time. Fish over cooked and dry Potatoe scallops 95% batter and over cooked Southern fried chicken was very oily and have a smell of a strong chemical which also strongly tainted the flavour. Service itself was not a problem. I am disappointed as we like to support local which is why we kept trying but I regret wasting hard earned money.. Vella’s or Siv’s have never left us disappointed.
We were craving for a fresh seafood place to have dinner in Mackay and after driving past a few on the Tripadvisor list, we settled for this suburban corner shop one. The shop looks clean and modern. There were a lot of things on their menu but we settled for a fis chips salad and an extra piece of grilled barra. Wow! It tasted very nice and the salad was fresh and not soggy or processed. Chips seemed home made but I might be wrong. Good value and great taste. Can’t ask for more really. Highly recommended.
The fish and chips from this little take away could very well be the best in Mackay. The fish is always cooked properly and the chips are crunchy on the outside and the chip centre is always perfectly cooked. They can get busy but the waiting time is usually not too long and the staff try to give a waiting time when you phone in an order. Staff are always friendly, helpful, and polite. Definitely give this place a go.

This restaurant not only serves delicious Southern fried chicken with a perfect balance of spices, but their fries are also a great complement to the chicken. The service is exceptional and deserves more than 5 stars. It may be a bit difficult to find, but it is definitely worth the search. We visited as a group and will all be back during our next visit to Mackay in 2020. Overall, a great experience.
We ordered take away due to a great report from my neighbour..we ordered kids calamari and chicken carbonara. I was most impressed with my meal, tasted fresh with plenty of chicken...my daughter had the calamari, and it was a beautiful batter that I swear was made from scratch.. Will definitely eat take out from here again. They also do meals like chicken Kiev, steak etc with chips and salad..
This small, local fish and chip shop is a gem. Conveniently located near the school, the kids often stop by in the afternoon to grab fish and chips on their way home. The food is consistently high quality and reasonably priced. Don't miss out on trying their delicious hamburgers as well!
Terrific food. Fresh well cooked and timely. The battered Red Emperor and Barramundi were yummy. Potato cakes great and chips crispy and hot. A great takeaway that we frequent Nice people in the shop.

This is a pretty corner ngl. Good chips cheese and gravy, it's pretty yummy. Would recommend highly, if you're ever around the block make sure you get the chips cheese and gravy and a coke.
Takeaway. Great huge piece of n Barra. Crispy batter and great chips and potato cakes. Always good and huge serves. Highly recommend
