Food that gives you goosebumps it’s that good! My partner, me and our two kids had Sunday brunch here today for the first time and it most definitely won’t be the last. I had the Mexican Beans with potatoes, fried eggs and salad, my partner had the french toast and the kids had the kids platter which included chicken sandwich, apple, grapes cake and a drink. Every one of the meals was delicious, and I tried them all haha, not a single thing I can critique. The french toast wasn’t soggy, and the chicken in the kids sandwiches was real chicken. The food wasn’t the only amazing thing though. The staff were welcoming and super friendly and the prices really reasonable. I really can’t wait to go...
We happened on this wonderful cafe whilst in Haddington at a meeting. We were really excited by the interesting menu and found it very hard to choose from so many wonderful sounding options. We all had something different and were not disappointed. It was all freshly prepared, looked great and tasted delicious. The staff were all helpful, attentive and smiley. It I ever happen to be back in Haddington I will definitely return. Thank you

I stand by my previous remarks about this hidden treasure. The staff is welcoming, the menu is concise yet caters to a variety of preferences. The dishes are beautifully presented and delicious. We typically order a main course and then choose something from the bakery display. Overall, it's a fantastic option with top-notch cuisine.
I had a delicious smoked haddock risotto with plenty of green veg and Parmesan shavings, while my husband enjoyed his fish platter for lunch. The staff were very friendly, the location is great and we enjoyed exploring Haddington afterwards. Worth travelling out of Edinburgh for.
Carlyle cafe was not our first choice but we were very pleasantly surprised with our find ! Staff were very friendly and greeted us in a very professional manner. We enjoyed our coffee and cakes and hope to be back in the future for some scones !

tucked away beside the library Carlyle House is a lovely historic building and serves up delicious lite bites, lunches and wonderful cakes pastries as well as superb coffee's. Well worth a visit
