great variety, good portioning and piping hot eating is the combination I'm looking for in a restaurant! we made the mistake of getting a starter that meant we were too full for our escape. in the afterth, we could probably have shared a disappointment and be satisfied. the carne nachos were delicious. highly recommended when they feel afteros. with so many entree options, our server suggested we try one of the specials so we could get a little of everything. we went with the durango combo and the special combo. we took us home. overall the prices were appropriate for the portions, parking was a brise and we did not have to wait for a table. during the service was fast, it was not very frien...
I had high hopes of going here. Salsa and chips were excellent (better than nearly all other r mexi an joints I've been to). Food prices are slightly high. Portion sizes are small. There is no liquor here (aka no margaritas). There is only beer and wine. Service was relatively inattentive. Speed of bringing out food was incredibly slow particularly on a not very busy evening. There is plenty of seating inside. There is no outdoor dining area. There is free parking, bit the lot can fill up easily. Churros were the worst you could ever imagine. Super over fried, hard, and no cinnamon sugar.
we haven't been in carmelitas for a few years, but tonight we had a **** for Mexicans. they start with warm chips and homemade salsa. my wife ordered the Mexican pizza that was delicious. I decide to take a different route and try the pork chops. let me just say that it was the best black-snips I had in a long time. much better than any steakhouse in the opposite. I can taste that they were marinated and flames were boiled to perfection. I also had fried beans and an salate with them.
Expensive for Texmex. Cost is a big factory in ratings. Maybe some people like the food at Carmalitas but we don't. My wife's Chimichange was soggy. We don't care for shreaded meat. My shrimp burrito had about 4 shrimp and they were cut into pieces. There was no flavor. The only thing that was good was the Guac. The salsa was good but no heat.

amazing experience at carmelita. we enjoyed it so much that we had to add it to our favorite restaurant list in the opposite. the service is as excellent as eating. amazingly great. recommend this place P.S mexican pizza is delicious
It was good it just lacked a lot of flavor. I still ate everything on my plate. Once I put lime on the fish tacos, it helped make them bearable. They were dry before. Chips were okay could have been more fresh.
Honestly, the food tastes (to me) a 4 to 5 stars but UNDOUBTEDLY almost every visit someone in our family of four is struck with cramps and races home to
We love Carmelita's! We often bring family and friends here as wellI usually always get the soup or the steak tacos.

Love the food, the service and the salsa. Been coming here for over 30 years.
