This restaurant by the water is fantastic! It features open-air seating and is covered, right next to a boat pier. We enjoyed watching various boats, floating tiki bars, kayakers, and paddleboarders while having lunch. While the seafood selection isn’t extensive for a seafood restaurant, if you enjoy mussels and fried seafood, you’ll find plenty to choose from. I had the fried flounder sandwich, and it was enormous and absolutely delicious! It came with two crispy fillets, thick slices of tomato, and a salad, accompanied by crispy fries, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce on the side. We also tried the a la Carmen appetizer, which included a dozen shells, mussels, and shrimp in a creamy white...
You pay for the view. Prices are Shore prices. As expected, considering the quality, everything is expensive. Food is well cooked. Nothing was impossible. Most of them were bland without much taste. View and atmosphere was very satisfying. The service was good. No service problems. Our family was completely satisfied. Some mixed opinions, but nobody liked it.
When our food finally arrived, it came quickly and we were initially impressed, but it was unfortunately cold. Our server reappeared, but it was right before we noticed the food temperature issue, and she gave us no opportunity to address it. Overall, we hardly saw her during our meal. The only positive aspect was the valet service!
Excellent food. Sometimes too long of a wait to be worth it. Picnic style tables (heavily varnished) are fun. They aren't always sensitive to their customers' comfort. Great time. I ate Carmen tonight. It was very busy, but the staff did an excellent job. Everyone was very nice from the hostess to the server. The food was great and quickly got out. I would recommend Carmen's visit to Sea Isle City. My family and I will come back soon!
