A small story of the staff at Carmen's...my mother brother, Uncle Buster, was lunch together with his class (class from 1958). My mother is a little older, but loves to meet with her little brother. A wonderful lunch was from everyone, and our server was so fast and organized with a number of hearing aids wearing, **** Mary drinking seniors! After we returned home, my mother had a $100 bill she gave me to buy flowers with the next day. She checked her bags, retraced her steps, no $100 bill. Well, in 87 years you start thinking that our thoughts are playing tricks on us. I got my mom back to find the $100 bill. I called Carmen and asked if someone had turned in a $100 bill. The bartender said...
I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place! It was buzzing with activity on a Friday evening, but we managed to find an open table in the dining area while the bar was completely full. The staff was incredibly friendly and remained as prompt as possible despite the busy atmosphere. The ribs were fantastic—tender meat that fell right off the bone, generously coated in a sweet BBQ sauce, with hot sauce available upon request. The burgers were large and juicy, and their homemade potato chips were a delight. However, the mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a box. It’s clear that the locals really love this spot, and we’ll definitely return next time we're in the area!
great little bar to see a game or just hang around with friends. the service was phenomenal and prices appropriate. I would recommend the ribs, I got the whole rule that made me laugh when it arrived. Probably all 4 types had fed with an order. I divided 3 bones and ate the rest of 1/2 rack. the other half went to house. beautiful terrace and lots of space inside. we will definitely return.
man and I live a few cities away where we normal. when we walked in jay cooke, we decided to see places to eat near. found this place. I just have to say that we will be back! eating was delicious, portings are amazing; I felt like my pasta was an endless bowl. price for portions etc. each cent value, plus service was nice and comfortable. 10/10 recommended. Excellent service, good foods at good prices. Found it by accident, never even knew they were hiding up there! Drive past Village Inn and head up the road a bit and you find this wonderful gem! Parking lot was full so we figured the locals knew something we didn't, and I'm glad we found it. Definitely come in again when I'm rolling through town!
We had a fantastic breakfast over the weekend! My husband and I enjoy stopping by for a meal, grabbing a drink or two, and playing some pull tabs whenever we can. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The specials are great too!
We really enjoy spending time at the bar whenever we visit this place. The bartenders are always entertaining, and their conversations are truly enjoyable! The drinks are fantastic, and the appetizers never disappoint!
