I wanted to love this place. I thought southern cooking okay. My hubby got pork chops smothered they lacked seasoning. I got two pieces of chicken not a lick of flavor. The greens had large stems and I have never had mac n cheese lumpy and yellow. The only plus was the corn bread. Take your money and cook at home. Sidenote: a guy walked in with a small black case looked around went to the restroom came back and was counting customers. I felt unsafe and decided the meal was over.
Does this look appetizing, NO! Absolutely not. I had dinner before in the Hyattsville location and was throughly impressed. The chitterlings stank which meant not cleaned properly nonetheless they were cooked perfectly. Not at this location, cleaned to perfection with good flavor just under cooked and chewy as heck. The Mac and cheese dry and burnt. The person serving just kept scraping the burnt bottom after my protest. No ma?am. I still ended up with burnt Mac.
First time visit. This is cafeteria style. All of the food we got was very good. Fried whiting, fried pork chops, baked chicken, peach cobbler, greens, sweet potatoes, black eyed peas, carrots cake, rice, cornbread. The portions were huge. The staff was polite and very patient with questions from 1 st time visitors.
This one isn't as good as Brandywine and Hyattsville. I ordered pork chops, greens and candied yams. The sides were pretty ok, the yams needed more juice. Was recommended this place by a friend. Food is good but wasn't served hot at all, just above room temperature which seemed a food safety issue. Forbearance! thoroughly examine the contents of the containers before they sit down to eat. a “Treeblatt” was discovered in one of the large page series of “Collard Greens” purchased on 24 november 2020. that was my last purchase.
