There is really nothing like Carpe Diem. Especially when the restaurant is dressed for Halloween (and other iconic events throughout the year). Interesting menu(s) and you are well looked after from arrival with a series of aperitifs and amuse bouche nibbles. An animal sanctuary? or mini-zoo? in the grounds which adds to it 's quirkiness. Has had a wee scrub up recently, which was needed, and to be fair, still has a little way to go on that front, but for a one-off occasion with a number of friends, you must experience Carpe Diem. They don 't take Credit or Debit Cards, so make sure you have enough cash with you. It 's not much per head, except a week-ends, and extra bottle(s) of vino won 't...
Having been recommended this resturant by many of the locals in Rasquera, we decided to book a table. You could easily miss the road to the restaurant as it is off a beaten track and even when you find restaurant you still question yourself is it ...it. The decor is out of this world very quirky, so many different sizes tables and chairs from sofa and full on dining tables. The menu is very varied and for €29.99 is very well priced. There is kangaroo, crocodile, ostrich, duck , lamb, pork and beef on the menu. The food is okay but nothing to write home about. I would go just to experience the quirky venue and its surround. Excellent restaurant experience,,,great location,,lovely unusual decor,,tasteful but quirky,,,fantastic unusual menu,,some real treats,,,food was tasty and well presented,,,brilliant service by the owner and his helpers,,,the overall atmosphere made it feel like you were having a dinner party round an old friends house,,,stayed for over 3 hours and enjoyed every minute,,,highly recommended
Dick, the owner, is a genius. Although I have not been here for a year, I was pleased to note that my favourite place had not changed. The place it’s self is hard to find, it’s well worth the effort. Sunday lunch is to die for and the most outstanding value for money. A meal of this quality and attention to detail would cost an absolute fortune anywhere else. Five stars!!!!!!!!

A really different experience. A mini zoo outside, a pool in the summer and a big restaurant decorated in Rococco? style. We have eaten there 4 times and always had good food and service. Great for special occasions and the lunch is not expensive.
Never fails to impress me carpe Diem Even though been many times , the host Dick and his staff are out of this world ,as for the food amazing as always,normal to the unusual selection on the menu , keep up the good hard work by u and your staff

Beautiful and 'quirky ' decor, difficult to find, so ask locally. Excellent and varied menu and not overpriced. We will definitely go again.
