Let me start by saying this, the wait was horrible, at least half an hour before we were seated, cause they were really busy, and another half hour before we got our food. This isn't a complaint, it was so worth it. But if your not the type to be willing to wait, go somewhere else. Now that we got that out of the way, my god this food was amazing. The omelets we had were the size of a midsized Buick, and they gave you enough hash browns to feed the entire city of Newark, for the next two months. I got mine fully loaded with bacon cheese, onions and sour cream. The Denver omelet and the chicken fried steak omelet were both amazing. Huge portions! My husband started with a side salad and it was as big as an entree you would get anywhere else. My daughter ordered the kids pancake breakfast and it was bigger than her head! We also ordered the BLT and the Drop Top chicken sandwich. Everything tasted excellent! For dessert we order the chocolate milkshake, and it was twice the size of any I've ever ordered. So thick and delicious! Our waitress was very friendly. I gave it one less star because the wait time for the food took a while. It was nice that the kids were given goldfish to munch on during the wait!
The food was good, as was the service. The portions are huge. The price for what you get makes it worth it. The only down side is having to wait about 40 minutes to get your food. More food seems to go out the door via takeout than what is served indoors. I can see why some people seem just ready to leave by the time the food hits the table.
My family loves having breakfast at Carr's. Delicious, home-style cooked meals that are humongous! It takes about 2 days to eat the leftovers. The staff are friendly. The service is superb. You get the best bang for your buck here.
