On the bright side, the pancakes were fantastic—10 out of 10! They were soft, fluffy, sweet, and just perfect. The apple cider was also outstanding—definitely the best I've ever had. Overall, aside from the pancakes and cider, most items were quite bland. The service, however, was excellent—very friendly and accommodating. Cars also has a full bar, which is a nice touch! I appreciated the large portion sizes, which is what we came for, but the food itself lacked flavor. I’m giving Cars 3 stars primarily because it’s a family-run business, which I really appreciate. Big portions, busy restaurant so clearly they're popular. I took 2 stars because the portions are too big. You can't even move your food over it takes up the entire plate and lacks flavor. Basically think of it like a buffet. Buffets focus on quantity not quality and that's what you get here. There's nothing wrong with the food per se it's just no seasoning, very bland. The French toast was the only thing worth 4 stars. If you want to feed all your kids on one meal this is the place to go. Delicious orange juice and lots of alcohol mixed drinks to choose from.
They had an incredible special drink called Eggnog Amaretto, and of course, a glass of water. My food came out in less than ten minutes. I was really pleased to find soft butter and warm syrup accompanying the dish. The chicken was incredibly tender and seasoned perfectly, while the waffle was light and fluffy. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and plan to return because I can't wait to try more of their menu!
We asked our Lexus Technician in Fife where can one get a real Good Breakfast and he said drive a further South to Carr’s. So we did and what an experience! I only go here for the Reuben sandwiches. Sitting waiting for my food I was shocked at the massive portions they serve. It's always busy so reservations would be a good idea.
They are remodeling so they get a pass on atmosphere which isn't bad anyway. Love the service as always and the food was good , love the big portions. Always a good place
best breakfast place in tacoma hands down. massive portions, they are almost guaranteed to have rest. the pancakes are huge. beautiful ambiente and decor in restaurant.

As a southern man, this is the first real southern style breakfast I’ve had in the NW. Reminds me of my granny’s cooking. 10/10 will come back!
