There's a reason you can catch so many locals here. My family and I stopped here on a Saturday morning after seeing a long line at another spot. Food was awesome and the service was excellent. I had a simple but delicious bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. My kids (two 10 yo boys each enjoyed a plate sized pancake w/ bacon (crispy, their favorite and my wife had the feta omelet which she said was excellent. Cool local college vibe with maybe one too many Carolina logos : but really a great spot for folks on the island or maybe heading home after check out. If we ever find ourselves down that way again, we're definitely stopping.
Was charged $5 to sub potatoes instead of tomatoes on an omelet. Insane. The worker was less than helpful and unwilling to refund us for our food when we decided to not buy our food. Was also charged a “custom fee” for another order when we literally did not customize it and they would not refund that either. TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE. Tall skinny lady put in headphones and refused to help us. Food is good but the service is why I will not be back.
This felt like a real home town spot, but still had love for all the tourists. The food was amazing! Our server attended to all our needs, but let us have space to soak in the vibes and really enjoy our food. I enjoyed the decorations on the wall which included flags for many universities from nearby states, from which many travel to this area. The kids portions are huge!
Castaways is always a wonderful place for breakfast or lunch! Great food, large portions, awesome service and so very reasonably priced! If you order pancakes make sure you only order ONE! they are the size of a layer cake and they are absolutely fabulous!! Support this local business! You will not be disappointed or leave hungry! The food is good, however every time we come the waitresses seem overwhelmed which makes the service slow and they seem scatterbrained. They are always helpful though. There 's one particular senior waitress that always seems negative or woe is me so it just ruins the atmosphere .
Very rude customer service. Tried to discuss my order total and the waitress just walked away from me mid sentence and had headphones in the whole time. No transparency with pricing. Do not recommend.
